I am learning to remember finger spaces and full stops, and sound out new words.

"I can write the words.  I can do it.  I sound out.  Mrs Wyatt helps me."

I am learning to know different parts of a sentence.

"I point to the letters, and look at the pictures.  My Mum and Mrs Wyatt helps me to read."

 "I like the playdough.  I tried not to drop it on the floor.  I made a snake.  No-one helped me.  I did it all by myself."

I am learning to say the number before and after up to 10.

"I was counting the apples, and there were 4 apples, and I got the answer right.  Mrs Wyatt helps me, and my heart and brain helps me do maths."

I am learning to match pictures to my writing.

"My letters are getting good.  I like it.  Mrs Wyatt helps me."

I am learning that the illustrations can help me read the story.

"I like the rocket."

"I am putting the letters together, in the right place.  Summer and Ahmad helped me do it."

I am learning to write numbers correctly.

"I am good at six, and four and five and one.  Three is hard for me.  Mrs Wyatt helps me."
